Detritus: Sacred Flesh is a photographic series documenting organic matter. The scanned images provide extreme detail which allow the viewer to take time to reflect on the formal qualities of various matter including a kitten, cremated remains, carnations and feces. The use of the scanner is almost ritualistic. The act of placing and positioning the object with my own hands was a mental exercise in which many emotions were meditated on.
